Sunday Morning Services
8:00 am - HOLY COMMUNION
This is a quiet, reflective service, making it a gentle way to start the Lord's day. We use the Book of Common Prayer and the service lasts about forty minutes.
10:30 am - SUNG SERVICES (fully Choral on special occasions)
with the monthly pattern as follows:
1st Sunday - Holy Communion (Common Worship) with all-age participation
3rd Sunday - Holy Communion, (Book of Common Prayer) with the Choir
2nd & 4th Sundays - Mattins (Book of Common Prayer) with the Choir
For special occasions and 5th Sundays, check the Current Events on the web site
Refreshments are served in the Parish Room after the service.
CHILDREN'S CHURCH
We host a children's church jointly with our neighbouring church, St Mary Magdalen, Oxford. On the 2nd and 4th Sundays of the month, the children's church will meet at 10:30am in the Parish Room of St Michael at the North Gate. At approximately 11:15am the children can join the service at either St Mary's or St Michael's.
On the 1st Sunday of each month, the children share in the first part of the service, including all-age teaching, and then enjoy their special activities in the Parish Room. All children are invited and their parents are warmly welcome.
Sunday Evensongs
During University terms, we are warmly invited to Choral Evensong at Lincoln College at 6:00pm. We enjoy a close relationship with Lincoln College: The Rector is Patron of St. Michael’s and our Associate Priest is College Chaplain.
At Christmas and Easter we hold Choral services suitable for the season, usually at 6:00pm – please watch the website for details.
From July to September we hold a themed series of Choral Evensongs at 4:00pm.
